'Hunting In Another Life With My Elf Wife' Volume 2 follows a Japanese hunter named Shin who finds himself in a world of magic and married to a beautiful elf archer named Saran. It is produced by Jupiter Studio and published in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.
Shin and Saran are tracking down a group kidnapping elves and selling them into slavery. They encounter Bal, the head of the Hunter's Guild. He allows them to join but is very strict with how they can move up the ranks. He assigns them to take out a pigeon infestation at a village, but things escalate when goblins start snooping around.
Japan has some of the strictest gun control policies in the world and rarely shows firearms in a positive light. So reading an isekai manga that features a hunter as a character is quite refreshing. Shin is truly a likable character who knows a lot about weaponry and I can say the writers do a good job of research when it comes to the type of firearms that are displayed.
I also enjoy Saran. The two of them are clearly in love and reading a series where the character is a family man along with his talented wife archer has been enjoyable.
The artwork is pretty basic for a manga, but it is still well done. I like Shin's design, especially when he is in full hunting gear. Like for Saran. Whenever she thinks Shin is in trouble, they draw her in a way where you can see the rage flowing through her. Those moments are done incredibly well and bring the story to life. This is also true of the action scenes. They are smooth and never felt too busy.
This is an exciting series and I am enjoying reading about a cool power cool.
